There will be CNS anatomical models and brainstem sections to aid you during the study sessions as well as bone boxes with the complete skeleton for first year students that would like to join in.

Czech Language

Czech Language is taught for the first 4 years here and the teaching is comprised of basic everyday language skills, along with developing these into more complicated skills, progressing to medical Czech. It is important to get a good basic grip of the language, since it’s vital in the upper years for good communication between you and the patient.

The standards of teaching are high but sometimes however, people feel the need to develop their language skills further or are not satisfied with their current knowledge. For situations like this, there are several language courses available in Brno. Few are mentioned below but we will keep this section as up to date as possible.

Jazykové centrum Correct

Brno English Centre (specific themed courses available)

Heureka (situated in the centre of Brno)

The Brno Language School (established for almost 60 years)

MKM (one of the largest private language schools in Brno)

ILC (discount available if you register this July)

Berlitz (courses with native speakers)

Jazykovka-Brno (10% discount as a MIMSA member and additional discount if you bring a friend!)

Electronic Resources

The University has links to many E-resources, including BMJ, PubMed, Thieme Electronic Book Library etc. You can access these resources by clicking on either of the links below:

MU Campus Library

Electronic information resources at MU

For the Thieme Electronic Book Library: You do not need to log in, just click on the relevant section in the left hand side column. These books are a favourite of most students, since they can provide a range of details to summaries of text for every subject.

If you create a login, then you have the advantage to bookmark pages, add notes etc.
