RESEARCH AND MANAGEMENT:

* Head of University Center for Healthcare Quality (Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic http://www.med.muni.cz/cekz). Advisor for Ministry of Health on standards and quality assurance in health care. Project manager, Quality implementation for health and healthcare.
* Deputy leader DG SANCO Health Systems Working Party. Active Member EFQM Health CoP (European Foundation for Quality Management Health Community of Practise), WHO and ESQH collaborator in the field of healthcare quality management and HC quality improvement education
* Devised and evaluated the methodology for creating Standards of Effective Medical Care. Introduced HTA in Czech Rep. Co-founder of the Server of Quality (Internet virtual workspace for healthcare quality collaboration). Active in healthcare performance measurement in Czech Rep.
* Collaborates with the Faculty of Informatics of the Brno University on efficient use of information technologies applied to medical data mining, warehousing and filtering, classification and summarization, medical information management and machine learning for medical text analysis (http://www.fi.muni.cz/kd/). Senior lecturer in health informatics, Brno Faculty of Medicine, MU.
* Heads a private facility offering complete range of infertility diagnostics and treatment as well as full range outpatient based gynecology and obstetrics. For over 20 years performs all embryological procedures necessary in assisted reproduction. Designes hardware used in IVF. Is vice-president
of the Czech Society for Quality in Healthcare (http://www.cskz.cz)
* Served for 6 years as member of the Board of Governors, Czech Medical Council. Actively involved in the transformation of Czech health care. Coordinated for four years the gynecological section of the Scientific Committee of the Czech Medical Council and for five years headed the Center for Healthcare Quality of the National Institute of Public Health.

CLINICAL WORK AND TEACHING:

* Designed the curriculum and teaches Health Informatics at the Medical School of T.G. Masaryk University (http://www.med.muni.cz).
* For 16 years lectured gynecology and obstetrics as assistant professor of Department of gynecology and obstetrics.
* Has sound experience in gynecological surgery, minimal invasive surgery, general gynecology and obstetrics.
* Performed all standard clinical methods used in assisted reproduction, participated in the first successful in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer program in Czechoslovakia.
* Served 8 years as a member of the Ethics Committee of the Masaryk University Medical Faculty.
* Assured operative and general gynecology and obstetrics for three years at the Regional Hospital of Kasserine, Tunisia. Counseled on family planning, obstetrics and gynecology in rural regions.

PUBLICATION ACTIVITIES:

Author of monographs and articles dealing with healthcare quality management, health informatics, machine learning and textual information analysis for healthcare use and for support of assisted reproductive technologies.
