Every year, our Representative Ball is a highly anticipated event. However, few of us could have imagined the immense success of this year’s edition. For the Student Medical Association (Spolek mediků), our main goal is to prepare an evening you will remember. We strive to focus on past mistakes as well as successes to create a truly unforgettable experience.

This year, we noticed a trend of massive interest from students during the ticket sales. This culminated just a few days before the event, leaving us in a state of shock.

A Program Across the Entire Bobycentrum

Given the number of attendees, we decided to offer a program across all stages of Bobycentrum. From the very first notes of the Umberto Band in the main hall, it was clear that no one would be sitting this one out. While the main stage featured performances by the Danza Dance Group, modern gymnasts, the Ritmo Factory – Drum Show, and Aerial hoop & silks acrobatics, the side stages offered a completely different atmosphere.

The ability to move freely between stages created a mix that made this evening unique. While the show in the main hall peaked with modern rhythms, it took only a few steps to find yourself in a completely different world. For those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere or a chance to sing along to folk songs, the Dyjavan Cimbalom Music was in full swing, traditionally remaining one of the most popular parts of the ball.

Just a short walk away, the space is filled with swing energy provided by Mr. Kong & His Swinging Monkeys, bringing the elegance of old-time ballrooms to the floor. This variety allowed everyone to find their own pace and mood throughout the night. For the most resilient, who didn’t take off their dancing shoes even after midnight, the night culminated with a set by DJ Andrew Melk, closing the main hall program in the early morning hours.

The Heart of the Ball: Us and You

The most powerful moment for us was undoubtedly the Opening Dance by the Student Medical Association. The feeling of standing before a packed hall of your colleagues and teachers is indescribable. The program continued with the announcement of the Academic of the Year 2026, year-group competitions, and the matriculation of freshmen.

The rich raffle also drew great interest. Drawing the main prizes brought a wave of suspense and shared fun to the hall, which belongs to our ball just as much as dancing does. These informal moments, when we all gather around one stage, remind us that we are more than just students of one faculty – we are one large community.

Your Feedback Moves Us Forward

The success of this year’s event would not have been possible without your energy and your honest feedback. Your interest this year took us by surprise, but it also gave us a clear message that you want more.

We learn from every year, and your comments are crucial for us to organise the event even better next time. All suggestions regarding this year's edition, as well as our official statement, can be found here.

Thank you for joining us on this ride. Without your energy, these would just be empty halls.
