6 graduates of doctoral studies from LF MU together with their supervisors received an award for excellence in their studies

Šárka Pospíšilová, Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Studies, presented awards for excellence in doctoral studies at MU to 33 graduates and their supervisors. Among the awardees were 6 graduates from the Faculty of Medicine.

The award was given to those graduates who successfully completed their studies within the standard period of 4 years, extended by a maximum of one year, and at the same time achieved high-quality research results in their dissertation. For graduates from LF MU, the award took into account, in particular, the fact that they had published first-authored publications in the first quartile of the highest-quality journals in the field.

The award was given for the first time last year. Šárka Pospíšilová, Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Studies, plans to award-successful doctoral students and their supervisors annually. "The main aim of the award is to motivate current PhD students to complete their studies in a standard time and with quality results. The awarding of those who have done so belongs to the whole set of activities that Masaryk University organises in order to improve the quality of doctoral studies," said Vice-Rector Pospíšilová. The award includes a financial reward of 25 thousand CZK. CZK for both the graduate and the supervisor.
