Dean's Letter of FM MU from 2nd November 2021

Letter from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine MU, prof. MUDr. Martin Repko, Ph.D. on the worsening epidemiological situation.

Dear members of the academia,

I would like to briefly summarize the most important information in connection with the worsening epidemiological situation and increasing uncertainty.

Studies at the Faculty of Medicine MU continue in a set regime and scope in a standard way. The workplaces of FM MU at the University Campus and at Komenského náměstí are following the University traffic-light system, which is currently in its first risk assessment level, green exclusively. The information on measures taken at elementary and secondary schools, which has been covered by media, currently does not affect universities.

The practical lessons taught at the premises of healthcare and social service providers (or other third parties) will continue to take place according to schedule. At individual facilities, visiting bans are coming into force, these bans, however, do not apply to the presence of students of medical faculties connected to their professional education. The students are obliged to follow the guidelines and epidemiological measures in force at given healthcare or social service provider.

No current measure differentiates between vaccinated and non-vaccinated students. However, in the case of non-vaccinated students, the vaccination against COVID-19 should be reconsidered, as it cannot be ruled out the new measures will affect non-vaccinated people more severely than vaccinated people.

In case of a change of these measures, we will inform you without undue delay.

Yours truly

prof. MUDr. Martin Repko, Ph.D.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine MU
