"Spondeo", the Ceremonial Matriculation Oath of first‑year Students at MED MUNI

On Wednesday, 22 October 2025, the ceremonial matriculation of first‑year students of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, took place in lecture hall B22/116. After taking the matriculation oath, students had their photographs taken as mementoes not only on the iconic footbridge in front of the faculty but, newly this year, also at a photo wall in the corridor.

Šárka Pospíšilová received the Medal of Merit from the hands of the President of the Czech Republic

On the occasion of the commemoration of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State on 28 October, Vice‑Rector of Masaryk University Professor RNDr. Šárka Pospíšilová, PhD, received a state decoration in the Vladislav Hall of Prague Castle. The award, presented by President Petr Pavel, recognised her services to the state in the field of science, in particular her extensive contributions to genetics and molecular biology. She is the head of the Institute of Medical Genetics and Genomics and also works at CEITEC MU and Brno University Hospital.
