MU Ranked in the World’s Top 200 Universities in Quality of Education
For the first time, Masaryk University got involved in The University Impact Rankings, which assess Universities against the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
According to the latest THE University Impact Rankings, Masaryk University is the best among Czech Universities in the category of Quality of Education and in the category of Partnership in Fulfilling the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In a worldwide comparison, MU ranked 101st – 200th place in this category.
Equal access to inclusive and quality education, support of lifelong learning, as well as educational activities and activities in the region are all evaluated in this category.
"This is a great success for Masaryk University and a confirmation of the fact that the quality of education is one of our main priorities. We will certainly continue to focus on this area and work on further development and improvement of online and hybrid forms of education, "stated the MU Rector, Martin Bareš.
The Rankings for Sustainable Development cover a number of other areas, and Universities choose strategies to achieve the goals defined by the UN. As seven Czech Universities have been involved in the latest international comparison rankings, announced for the third year in a row, Charles University, Palacký University in Olomouc, and the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague also appeared on the list alongside MU with the overall evaluation of 401st – 600th place. Altogether, 1,115 Universities worldwide were evaluated.
Masaryk University participated in the evaluation of four sustainable development goals out of a total of 17 goals defined by the UN. In addition to the Quality of Education, the MU was also successful in the areas of Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and Good Health and Well-being, in both of which MU ranked 201st – 300th place.
In the mandatory category of Partnership for the Goals, which has the ambition to revive global cooperation on sustainable development, MU ranked in the 401st – 600th position, which is the best evaluation among Czech Universities.
