On 17 July 2026, the Department of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University successfully concluded this year's Summer Dissection Course for Danish medical students.
The academic programme included daily anatomical dissections, presentations of dissected anatomical regions, anatomy quizzes, and a specialised lecture in forensic anthropology. Through these activities, students were able to combine hands-on experience gained from working with cadavers with a deeper understanding of topographical anatomy and its clinical relevance. Practical training was complemented by continuous mentoring from student teaching assistants and consultations with academic staff from the Department of Anatomy.
After two weeks of intensive learning, professional discussions, and shared experiences, participants received their certificates of completion before returning home to Denmark.
According to the final course evaluation, students particularly appreciated the opportunity to work with real human donors, the welcoming and supportive learning environment, the guidance provided by student tutors, and the unique combination of anatomy education and international exchange.

The Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University offered visitors to the Science and Technology Festival practical demonstrations from the fields of midwifery and nutritional therapy – ranging from pregnancy simulations and positioning expectant mothers in augmented reality to body composition measurements.
This summer, Masaryk University Faculty of Medicine hosted two sessions of its Summer School for international students, one in July and one in August. Students from around the world came to Brno for an intensive week of hands-on activities, from heart dissection and ultrasound to first aid, surgical suturing, casting and blood sampling. The programme concluded with a trip to Prague.
