Dean’s Word
Dear colleagues,
As the end of the year is approaching, I would like to personally thank each one of you for all the good work you have done. Unfortunately, neither this year we could live to the fullest at the faculty as we were used to before covid. Nevertheless, even in these times, we were able to pull together and fulfil our mission: to educate new generations of doctors and healthcare workers, share our best knowledge, skills and to participate in scientific research. This is evidenced in many important awards for the faculty and individual employees, as well as various memberships or positions in important institutions, organisations and specialised committees.
I hope you can spend the Christmas holidays and the end of the year alongside your loved ones and that we can meet in a friendly and creative atmosphere next year. I wish you all good health and a happy mind, interesting and important projects for researchers, talented and purposeful students for teachers, and quality teachers for students, who will inspire them for their future careers.

In November 2021, FM MU received accreditation of a new doctoral study programme Healthcare Simulation. The study programme, unique in the Czech and European context, will offer the opportunity to study to graduates of medical and non-medical medical programmes and graduates of pedagogically, technically, or scientifically oriented programmes.
The programme will welcome its first applicants in the academic year 2022/2023.

In October 2021, the Faculty of Medicine, MU became a member of the largest international organization for PhD educators in the field of biomedicine, medicine, and health sciences.

Participate in the auction of artworks created by our students and graduates during this pre-Christmas time, and win a perfect gift for yourself or your loved ones that is thematically connected to our faculty. Up until 20th December, we are auctioning all 49 artworks and the bids already make up more than 20 000 CZK! Let’s do a good deed and prove that we, at FM MU, have a really good heart. We will donate the collected sum to the Medical Students’ Association for the construction of the Memorial for Body Donors at the Brno Central Cemetery.
You could see all the artworks during an exhibition in one of the campus corridors. You too can own 13 of them, which succeeded as the most popular ones in online voting, in the form of an exclusive limited-edition calendar. It will be available for purchase during 20th and 21st December from 8 AM until 3 PM in the room B17/328. Contact Jana Dvořáková.

Faculty of Medicine MU is opening for high school students and you can get involved!
11 courses, 2 face-to-face events, over 30 hours of teaching and more than a hundred talents addressed. These are the results of the autumn semester of the year 2021. How will be the year 2022? You can decide about that! Junior Academy FM MU is still looking for lecturers, who will offer an extract of the most interesting topics from their lessons and mediate it, either through theoretical or practical teaching, to high school students. You can also address them by offering a topic for scientific research within Student’s Professional Activities.
We will be happy to offer your course or list your topic for SPA research. Let’s address the talents together and bring them to the Faculty of Medicine MU.
