Dear PhD candidates,
We are sending you the latest information on Doctoral Study Income valid from September 1, 2025, related to changes in funding conditional on the amendment to the Higher Education Act.
Full-time PhD candidates are currently awarded scholarships until August 31, 2025.
Full-time doctoral students, who are eligible for a scholarship, will have to apply for a doctoral scholarship from September 1, 2025.
- The application must be accompanied by a sworn statement on the composition and amount of all income related to the preparation of the dissertation.
- The sworn statement must be signed by the PhD candidate and then by the supervisor, who thereby confirms the accuracy of the information.
- The first application must be submitted by the PhD cansisate in September; the scholarship will be paid retroactively, with the payment for September taking place in October.
Full-time study in clinical fields will be designed as a so-called "half-time" clinical PhD, i.e., a combination of clinical training and work on the dissertation project itself. A certain period of time is therefore reserved for work on the dissertation project.
For a better overview of the possible structure of doctoral admissions, we have attached a diagram of admissions before and after this change.
You will be informed of further news regarding doctoral admissions in a timely manner. Current information can be found on the Masaryk University website.
