Internal grant agency of FM MU Call 2024 - Start-up grants
Start-up grants (SUp grants) are intended to support pilot projects of new research programs. The aim is to acquire pilot data, introduce and verify a new methodology and acquire data for the development of a full-fledged project funded by an external grant agency in the future. A necessary output of the project is the submission of a project proposal to external grant agencies, with the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in the role of the main applicant/co-applicant.
Selection criteria
- the applicant must be an employee of FM MU, or an employee of a medical facility at a joint workplace with FM MU engaged in research with a minimum 0,5 workload (in the sum of the working time at FM MU and at the medical facility), or a PhD student of FM MU with a training workplace at the faculty,
- proposal meets the aims of SUp grant,
- focus of the proposal complies with the strategy of the applicant´s workplace and FM MU,
- project description implies the need of support for the preparation of project proposal to be submitted to an external grant call,
- project budget and budget justification indicate the need to fund the costs, particularly the consumables, salaries and healthcare/social-security contributions, possibly external services, acquiring pilot data and verification of new methodology.

Submission of project proposal
The project proposals will only be submitted electronically via ISEP.
Collection of applications: until 11 October 2023. The faculty deadline for approval of the project proposal in ISEP: 13 October 2023.
Funding
Maximum funding amounts to CZK 250,000 per project for up to 12 months.
Grant implementation
Implementation period of supported projects: 1 January 2024 – 31 December 2024
Final report deadline: 30 June 2025
