ERC
New Rules for ERC Grants Starting in 2027
Planning to apply for an ERC grant? Changes coming in 2027!
Starting in 2027, the rules for applying for grants under the European Research Council (ERC) will change. The time frames for each category will be adjusted as follows:
-
Starting Grant will be open to younger researchers (0-10 years after PhD), giving more opportunities to those at the beginning of their academic careers (previously 2-7 years after PhD).
-
Consolidator Grant will have a broader range (5-15 years after PhD), allowing for more flexibility in career planning (previously 7-12 years after PhD).
-
Advanced Grant will be for researchers with more than 15 years after PhD (previously 12+ years after PhD).
If you are planning to apply, make sure to assess where you currently stand in your outstanding career. The sooner you start, the better your chances! Now is the ideal time to start planning your research direction and secure the best possible funding.
For more information, please contact Dagmar Václavíková.
