National information day on ERC Grants

We cordially invite you to the National Information Day on the European Research Council (ERC) grants, which will be held on 19 November 2025, from 12:30 to 17:00, in Patriots' Hall, Charles University Rectorate, Prague.

During the event you will learn about:

  • How to write a successful project proposal for the ERC
  • The latest news from the ERC President, Maria Leptin
  • Tips from experienced evaluators and principal investigators, including Tomáš Jungwirth and Adam Williamson
  • Final panel discussion: “Is the Czech research environment ready for the ERC?”

CARMEN2026: Step into personalised medicine – EP PerMed call is approaching

The European Partnership for Personalised Medicine (EP PerMed) will launch on 25 November 2025 the international call “CARMEN2026 – Personalised Medicine for CARdiovascular, MEtabolic, and kidNey diseases”, which will support innovative research projects focused on personalised medicine in the areas of cardiovascular, metabolic and kidney diseases. Pre‑announcement here.

Research teams with academic, clinical and industrial partners from different countries can target: innovative personalised therapeutic approaches; monitoring patients’ responses to tailor treatment; or early detection of disease risk and prevention of complications.

Key deadlines:

  • Information webinar: 16 December 2025 (10:00–12:00 CET, registration here)
  • Deadline for pre‑proposals: 10 February 2026 (14:00 CET)
  • Deadline for full proposals: 9 June 2026 (14:00 CEST)

AZV

Results from AZV expected soon

On Friday, 31 October, the Agency for Health Research of the Czech Republic (AZV) held meetings of its Presidium and Scientific Council regarding the VES 2026 projects. Based on the expert panels’ evaluations and the meeting outcomes, it is recommended to the Minister of Health that 79 standard projects (20 %) and 24 junior projects (21 %) be approved for funding.
The final results are expected to be announced on 7 November 2025 on AZV website.
