Planning to submit a project to AZV 2027? Join this seminar!

GA ČR

Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR): Notice on 2027 Calls and Stricter Rules on Project Overlaps

The Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR) has published on its website a notice regarding the newly announced calls, along with a reminder on rules concerning overlapping project proposals with a start date in 2027. The key points are as follows:

1. Limit on submissions: In all GA ČR public calls in the calendar year for projects starting in 2027, and in all associated calls in which GA ČR participates, an individual may submit no more than one proposal as principal investigator or co-investigator in each of the following categories:

  • Standard Projects, International Projects, and LA Grants
  • JUNIOR STAR and EXPRO
  • POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIPS (INCOMING and OUTGOING) and Return Grants

2. Limit on project leadership: In all GA ČR public calls for 2027 and associated calls, an individual may be principal investigator or co-investigator on only one project starting in 2027.
This means that even if a person is successful in multiple calls/categories that allow overlapping submissions, they may only lead one of these projects.

HE Twinning

Reminder: Twinning and Horizon Europe

Looking for funding to strengthen your team’s collaboration with leading international institutions? Do you want to support visits to foreign labs, training in new research areas, and innovation of your scientific activities? The Horizon Europe Twinning call, with a deadline of 9 April 2026, offers exactly these opportunities.

Please note that faculty Review Board discussions for Horizon Europe coordinator projects (including Twinning) with April 2026 deadlines will take place on 5 February 2026. Let us know your intentions early.

Even if you do not plan to prepare a coordinator project now, you are encouraged to discuss the calls with your partners and explore opportunities in emerging European consortia.

ERC

Seminars and Workshops on Preparing ERC Grant Applications

  • Researchers interested in ERC grants are invited to the online Introductory Seminar on Preparing an ERC Proposal on 26 February 2026, which will provide an overview of essential information for applicants planning to submit an ERC proposal this year.
  • For practical tips and guidance on preparing a competitive ERC application, you can join the series of three interactive workshops How to ERC and Beyond on 29 April, 13 May, and 27 May 2026.

At the Faculty of Medicine, we have just submitted an ERC Consolidator proposal by Mgr. Lenka Bešše, Ph.D., who can share her experience in preparing an ERC application. We wish Dr. Bešše the very best of luck!
