The receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) regulate multiple processes in human development and disease, but their signaling properties are often poorly understood. The genetic models and human pathologies caused by RTK mutation or loss suggest a relationship between RTK signaling and primary cilia, yet the experimental evidence is missing. In this systematic study, we will employ methods of cell and molecular biology to define the functional interaction of RTKs with the primary cilia in human health.
