We bring you a selection of the most interesting things in science and research at our faculty in the shortest month of 2025
Technology Transfer Office of MU welcomed representatives from six European universities in the first week of June. The four-day program offered them a detailed look at the technology transfer system in the Czech Republic, current trends in the field, selected topics related to intellectual property protection, commercialization and the establishment of spin-off companies.
The program was complemented by a tour of the Simulation Center at Faculty of Medicine. MUST Week was concluded with a lecture by Dr. Yashwant Pathak from the University of South Florida, a Fulbright Scholar at the Faculty of Pharmacy. During his lecture, Dr. Pathak discussed technology transfer and entrepreneurship issues from the perspective of their place in the university curricula.

A team of scientists led by the head of the research group at the Department of Biology, Nicola Silva, has made a significant achievement in research into the reduced or impaired function of the Synaptonemal complex, which may be one of the causes of sterility. The paper by an international team of authors was published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature Communications in March 2025.
