The Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University ended 2025 at an important stage in the development of the HR Award. There are only five months left until the evaluation of the second period of implementation of the Revised HR Award Action Plan.
This year was characterized by the finalization of key measures and a deeper focus on developing the scientific environment, streamlining administration, and strengthening social security. Of the 123 measures, 73 were fully completed by the end of the year, and another 26 are being worked on intensively.
All the steps taken are aimed at the long-term goal of building the faculty into a modern, transparent employer that offers a top-notch environment for science, teaching, and professional growth.

The year 2026 will be crucial for LF MU, as we will be defending our HR Award. The main task will be to successfully complete the Internal Review, revise all documents, draft a new Action Plan, and prepare for a visit by European Commission evaluators. We will continue to work on linking science with practice, supporting careers and talent, and building a safe environment.
We would like to thank all employees and students who are actively involved in creating a better and more modern faculty!

Borderline personality disorder is the most common personality disorder. Its severity is compounded by a high rate of self-destructive behaviour; five to ten percent of patients exhibit strong suicidal tendencies. Treatment options are limited, and there is a shortage of psychologists and psychiatrists. To bring about change, a new spin-off company, EQUILIO, or the Czech Institute of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, was established. Its goal is to train professionals and expand the use of this method, which has been largely unavailable in the Czech Republic until now.
