The Faculty of Medicine at MU introduces new online trainings designed for academics and researchers. These trainings combine short video lessons with interactive quizzes that allow users to practice their newly acquired knowledge. At the end of each training, participants can access a PDF summary containing key information, important links, and contacts for relevant experts. Our faculty is the first to develop such training internally. After several months of testing and close collaboration with colleagues from IS MU, the training has now been successfully implemented in the system.

Subject matter expert for training content of Publication Activitiy and Research Integrity is Mgr. Tereza Miškechová from the Faculty’s Department for Science and Quality. It focuses on publication record-keeping, best practices in scientific publishing, and Open Science. Intellectual Property, Its Protection, and Technology Transfer at the Faculty of Medicine content is guaranteed by subject matter expert Mgr. et Mgr. Matěj Búřil from CTT MU. It covers topics such as copyright, technology transfer, commercialization, and success stories from our faculty. Both training programs were developed with the support of the Faculty’s leadership.

These courses complement information presented at in-person sessions as part of Get to know FM MU, which has been held twice a year since January 2023. This initiative supports the onboarding process of new academics and researchers in the R1-R4 career levels (according to the European HR Strategy for Researchers). During these sessions, new employees are introduced to key topics, faculty representatives, and available support options. All information regarding Get to know FM MU  is available on the Employee Portal.

The training is accessible to the aforementioned employees via the Training application in IS MU. If you do not fall into these categories but are interested in the training, please contact Mgr. et Mgr. Markéta Havelková.

Training Application in IS MU

Both online trainings reflect the recommendations of the international organization ORPHEUS, which emphasized the importance of education in academic integrity and biomedical research ethics during its external evaluation of science and doctoral studies at our faculty. Since 2021, we have been working on refining our onboarding system based on employee needs and insights incorporated into our HR Award action plan and key employee care priorities.

In addition to developing an onboarding process for academics and researchers, we have introduced welcome packages for new employees and launched a pilot version of the Adaptation application in selected departments. This initiative aims to streamline, unify, and digitize the onboarding process at the Faculty of Medicine.

Please note that these trainings are currently available only in Czech.
