Description Purpura in childhood is usually difficult differential diagnostic problem. The most common vasculitis is purpura Schönlein-Henoch whose is well known among pediatricians. Less frequent or underdiagnosed vasculitis is acute hemorrhagic edema of infancy (AHEI). To date AHEI has not accurate czech nomenclature. Typical for AHEI are large purpura, edema and fever/low grade fever. Even though the manifestation of skin lesions is by AHEI very dramatic, this disease does not require specific treatment. The course of AHEI is self limited, complications are rare and the prognosis is favorable. To our knowledge the presented case is the first case in czech pediatric journals.
