Description Here we present a case report of a young male patient who developed a very aggressive form of relapsing multiple sclerosis presented with three relapses within six months and a severe magnetic resonance finding with multiple active gadolinium-enhancing demyelinating lesions. We observed a very good response to a high-dose interferon beta-1a treatment (Rebif (R) 44) characterized by improved magnetic resonance findings, stabilization of the neurological status, and absence of clinical relapses. Due to these positive outcomes, the dose of interferon was reduced to 22 mcg three times a week but, following a relapse one year later, the dose was increased back to Rebif (R) 44 mcg three times a week. The patient’s overall tolerance of Rebif treatment is good; regular assessments of neutralizing antibodies against interferon beta have been negative.
