Description Identifying risk factors for thrombosis in patients with BCR/ABL myeloproliferative disorders leads to defining risk groups, and hence individualized treatment strategies of these patients. Recent data show the impact of the specific mutations to incidence of thrombotic complications in myeloproliferative disease. This study analyzes the relationship of thrombotic complications to the type of mutation a group of 233 patients with BCR/ABL myeloproliferative disorders. The results show the increased incidence of thrombotic complications, a higher risk of recurrence of thrombotic complications and a higher incidence of thromboses in the splanchnic area in JAK2 positive patients with myeloproliferative disorders.
