Description Introduction: Silicosis and pneumoconiosis are still the most common illness of the respiratory system in Czech Republic. Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of 116 patients with occupational silicosis and pneumoconiosis in the years 1997-2014. He was evaluated by chest X-ray, and spirometry. Results: In the occupational disease It was recognized 42 cases of silicosis and 17 cases of complicated forms of silicosis, 40 cases of simple pneumoconiosis and 17 cases complicated forms of pneumoconiosis. Ventilatory disorder in 33.6% of patients was mild degree, 21.2% of patients wase moderate, 5.2% of patients was severe intensity. The differences in the incidence of airway disorder between silicosis and pneumoconiosis were not significant. Conclusion: Both pneumoconiosis were recognized as occupational diseases in the elderly patients, at the age of 62 years. Ventilatory disorder was diagnosed in 51.7% of patients. Prevalent disorder combination type and mild degree. Although in silicosis and pneumoconiosis has spirometry essential diagnostic, The prevalence of airway disorder was associated with obstructiv lung diseases.
