Description The primary aim was to research the occurrence of over-training syndrome in ballet dancers during adolescence. The secondary aim was to verify the relationships between the perceived level of training load and the intensity of training, personality and perfectionism, and the connection between perfectionist tendencies and personality characteristics of the five-factor model. The research battery was administered to 97 respondents studying at dance conservatories in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. The hypothesis of the relationship between the level of perceived load and personality characteristics was confirmed. Positive correlations with neuroticism and negative correlations with affinity and consciousness were shown. The results confirmed the relationship between the level of perceived load and perfectionist tendencies and the relationships between certain perfectionist tendencies and personality traits.
