Description Iron deficiency anaemia is the most common nutritional deficiency in both developing and developed countries. Infants and toddlers are especially at high risk, because iron deficiency during this period of development can lead to serious negative effects on health. Prevention of anaemia in children includes breastfeeding, eating food rich in iron and vitamin C and avoiding large amounts of cow´s milk.
