Description Invasive procedures in anesthesiologist point of view primarily include techniques of regional anesthesia and their use in the perioperative period in children, similarly to adults, fully fit into the concept of multimodal acute postoperative pain management. Some techniques have similar applications in children and adults, but some are different in use similarly like the spectrum of surgical procedures in adults and children. The article focuses on the differences in techniques of regional anesthesia in childhood, especially on differences in anatomical, physiological and pharmacological aspects. Then there are mentioned some techniques specific to surgical procedures in childhood.
