| Description | Research concerning on the impact of hand hygiene on the quantity of communicable infections, which grants a focused view of selected Czech hospitals and social care facilities. Communicable infections monitored by the study are not reported into the register of occupational infections, but it can be estimated from their proliferation amongst the populace and from statistics of other occupational infections that healthcare workers suffer a higher risk of exposure due to their profession. Due to the fact that the majority of these infections are communicable by contaminated hands, we are interested in the impact of hand hygiene to their occurrence, while taking into account that the infection may be contracted outside the workplace. Proper hand hygiene can prevent communication of the infections among employees, which could be reflected in the statistics monitored. Specifically, we compare the numbers of infectious states with measures of hand sanitizer use, while utilizing correlation analysis and evaluating access of the healthcare workers to hand hygiene and care. The research also concerns the evaluation of statistical dependencies, presents results of questionnaires and provides answers to hypotheses searching for factors influencing the state of the skin, which stem from findings regarding the causes of skin damage and dermatitis. |
