Description The purpose of this study was to determine activities of antioxidative enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), glutathione reductase and catalase (CAT) and malondialdehyde as marker of lipoperoxidation in erythrocytes, plasma and alveolar macrophages and to search for links between all measured parameters. Our preliminary results propose possible role of GPx and SOD on increased oxidative stress in patients after tracheotomy.
