Description	The article deals with the electoral support of three Spanish parties (Spanish Socialist Workers Party, Popular Party, United Left) in parliamentary and regional elections. Three elections, which were realized between 1999 and 2009, are examined here. The paper is based on a historical approach and the method of analysing the area of electoral support, which shows the districts where the particular parties are successful in the long term. The main research question is whether the nationalist-regional cleavage can have the influence on the electoral support of political parties.
