Description Sepsis in Intensive Care Unit is related with considerable morbidity and mortality. It is also the most common cause of syndrome of multiple organ failure. In this review, many pathophysiolgical mechanisms from central nervous system to molecular level have been described. After an overview of the most important mechanisms and their critical reappraisal, the therapeutical potential of organ support predominantly with the scope of oxygen delivery manipulation strategy and ventilatory support have been discussed in the last part of this review.
