Description In the interventional preventive programs which are focused on the support of health is essential the cooperation between schools and communities as one of the main ideas for their successful function. In addition, in the preventive program Nutrition-Friendly Schools Initiative (NFSI) community cooperative features belong to the programmatic criteria as the integral part. This contribution represents the results of the research at some elementary schools in the districts Brno-city and Brno-country. At these chosen schools the surveys were analyzed with the use of WHO methods and additionally there was realized the qualitative analysis in all schools in Brno. The results show how the schools cooperate with the parents and community in addition with the health specialists in education towards healthy nutrition and lifestyle. The ability of schools to provide some quality education in this branch has the tiny relation with the teachers’ and other school staff’s knowledge and their opportunity to be educated in the area of healthy nutrition and lifestyle.
