Description The book deals specifically with malignant disease in the young generation defined by age 15 to 25 (29) years. It provides a comprehensive look at the epidemiology, etiology, clinical presentation and behavior of individual tumors and hematologic malignancies. Emphasis on age-specific differences and summarizes the current knowledge about the biology and pathogenesis of various malignant diseases. It compares only tumors in adolescents with cancer in children, but also with the older generation of adults. The authors pay attention to the psychology of adolescents as a factor that is often very tolerant and will greatly affect the course of treatment. An integral part of the monograph is the issue of supportive treatment and late effects of cancer treatments that can significantly affect quality of life of cancer cured a young man.
