Description The textbook on medical biophysics and medical devices for English study programmes at Faculties of medicine. The chapters devoted to general biophysics emphasise structure of matter, thermodynamic principles, biophysics of senses and biophysical effects of ambient medium. The chapters devoted to medical devices deal also with the most recent imaging methods. Some chapters start with short physical introduction summarising the expected high-school knowledge. A special chapter deals with biophysical and device-oriented problems encountered in dental medicine. The last chapter is an overview of computer applications in medicine, and an introduction to the medical informatics.
