Description The grant research (IGA MZ CR 1044-3) of sudden cardiac death of people under 40 - years was running at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Hospital of St. Anna University, I. IKAK and Department of Medical Genetics, University Hospital Brno in the years 2008 - 2011. In this period, 27 people in cases of sudden death were examinated. Part of the research was the analysis of genetic material taken up during autopsy of the deceased as well as the biological material of concerned living relatives. Originally, there were seven analyzed genes (KCNQ1, KCNH2, KCNE1, SCN5A, KCNE2, and ANK2 TNNT2). Currently, there is a possibility of analysis of other "new" 46 genes in the multiplex for cardiomyopathies. The aim of the presentation is to inform of this alternative diagnosis of sudden cardiac death.
