Description Spinal cord compression syndrome presents clinically file gradually or suddenly developing neurological symptoms caused by compression of the spinal cord and / or radicular pathology, expansive process in the spinal canal. Spinal cord compression due to malignant tumor in most cases is caused by extradural (epidural) metastases, less often an intramedullary tumor involvement or leptomeningeal infiltration. Spinal cord compression syndrome is explained in terms of pathophysiology, chapter deals with the diagnosis and differential diagnosis. The chapter describes the clinical symptoms and surgical and oncology treatment options.
