Description The surgical aortic valve replacement represents the gold standard of treatment of patients with hemodynamically significant aortic stenoses. Within the last 10 years, the catheter treatment, i.e. the aortic valve implantation into the native aortic valve (TAVI – – transcatheter aortic valve implantation), has been added to the surgical one. The Czech TAVI Registry has served as the platform for long-term follow-up and the treatment effectivity analyses required by the new technolgies´ implementation. The paper is focused on the technical aspects of the multicentre registry comprising 688 completed parametric records from about 95% of all TAVI procedures performed in the Czech Republic. The Registry has been held under the auspices of the Czech Society of Cardiology and its Working Group of Interventional Cardiology and administrated by the Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses of the Masaryk University.
