Description Astigmatism is refractive error caused by irregular curvature of cornea or lens. Astigmatism have a lot of patients with cataract. Correction of corneal astigmatism is possible by several methods e.g. Limbal Relaxing Incisions (LRIs), Toric Intraocular Lenses (IOLs) implantation or in some cases combination of them both. LRIs are one or two peripheral corneal arcuate incisions along the steep axis of astigmatism. Toric IOLs are designed to correct regular corneal astigmatism and cataract in one step.
