| Description | Microparticles (MP) are membrane fragments ranging in size 0,1-1 m released from all types of cells during their activation or apoptosis. Patients with arterial or venous thrombosis have higher levels of circulating microparticles than control subjects. Increased MP or their increased procoagulant activity in a group of patients with BCR/ABL negative myeloproliferative disorders have been published in several papers. This work is devoted to procoagulant activity of circulating microparticles in relation to the incidence of thrombotic complications in the group of 155 patients with BCR/ABL negative myeloproliferative disease. Analysis of procoagulant activity of MP in our cohort shows results that could predetermine the use in clinical practice for identifying patients at increased risk of thrombosis. |
