Description Renal carcinoma (RCC) is most commonly diagnosed at random during an examination for other causes. At present, there is no sufficiently sensitive and reliable bio-marker capable of predicting the development of the disease and expecting a reasonable therapeutic response. Potential biomarkers are long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), molecules regulating gene expression at all levels, whose deregulation has been described in various cancers including RCC. The aim of this work was to analyze expression profiles of lncRNA, compare them with clinical pathological parameters and characterize their functionality in vitro.
