Description Subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAK) is a life-threatening type of haemorrhagic stroke caused by rupture of a sac-aneurysm. During SAK, blood is spilled into the subarachnoid space filled with cerebrospinal fluid and an acute increase in intracranial pressure (ICP). The first aim of our study was to describe cell changes in choroid plexus (CP) induced by SAK. The second objective was to demonstrate whether inflammatory changes in CP are due solely to degradation products of hemoglobin or are also contributed by acutely elevated ICP after SAK.
