Description Palliative medicine became an essential component of the medicine of the 21st century. The goal of palliative medicine is to preserve the best quality of life possible in patients with serious life threatening disease. . Doctors of all specialities come into contact with these patients. Therefore, a basic knowledge of palliative medicine and its principles is the cornerstone of the education of every medicine graduate. The e-learning programme covers in 10 lessons the principles of palliative care: the communication, management of pain and other symptoms, ethical and legal aspects of decission making in the end of life and also the basic information about organisation of palliative care. The primary target audience of the e-learning Palliative care are medical students. But it may be as well a useful resource for young physicians and nurses.
