Description Hemorrhoidal disease is the most common reason for consultation in a proctological ambulan- ce. It is the most common anorectal pathology in adults and its exacerbation has a significant effect on the quality of patient’s life. Although hemorrhoidal complaints may be the main reason for medical consultation, it is always necessary to carry out a proper proctological examination and to exclude other pathological conditions that may have symptoms similar to hemorrhoidal diseases. Nowadays, there are plenty of treatment options, including semi-in- vasive, outpatient methods. Conservative treatment of hemorrhoids represents an important role in the treatment of hemorrhoids. Systemic flavonoid therapy is used both in the initial stages, in complications, and also in preparing patients for minimally invasive procedures or surgical procedures. Last but not least, the surgical treatment is intended for symptomatic hemorrhoids in patients with a certain grade of mucosal prolapse.
