Description In August 2019, a new version of the recommended procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of dyslipidemia (DLP) was published. authors representing the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the European Society for Atherosclerosis (EAS) .1 Again, this is a complex and extensive material that can be considered as a reference - it revises the evidence we rely on diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, but with respect on the extent and complexity of the material it is likely we will not use it in daily practice. Committee of the Czech Society for Atherosclerosis (ČSAT) prepared the following opinion as a summary of the most important and significant changes that distinguish this document from the previous ESC / EAS guidelines from 2016 and from the opinion of ČSAT on these recommended procedures published in 2017.2,3 The ČSAT Committee considers the ESC / EAS 2019 recommendation for the treatment of dyslipidemia to be appropriate also for health care in the Czech Republic. The opinion does not replace the commented recommendations and those interested in a detailed wording are advised to read the original complete text. When comparing the current and the previous ČSAT opinion from 2017 remain general rules for evaluating evidence for the recommendation of individual interventions and the wording used, which of them result (is recommended, should be considered, may be considered considered in certain circumstances is not recommended); current however, the opinion comments on important changes, including and a tabular summary of news.
