Description The chapter introduces the basic theoretical concepts of hope in psychology and presents the results of our own research and the outcomes of other studies, which examine the context and benefits of hope in healthy and clinical populations. We also presented specific programs aimed at increasing hope in patients, incl. terminally ill patients, which effectiveness has been empirically verified. The issue of the importance of hope among doctors and health professionals was also discussed.
