Description While patients rely on physicians as a trusted source of health information, research shows that many doctors lack confidence addressing nutrition with patients. This may be due to inadequate emphasis on nutrition education and training in medical school. Although research supports the benefits of dietitians providing nutrition care for patients and offering nutrition education to medical students, countries have diverse approaches to including nutrition professionals in healthcare and education systems. Thus, the purpose of this study is to assess perceptions of nutrition education and the role of dietitians at a medical school in the Czech Republic.
