| Description | The symposium is dedicated to the importance of feedback in psychotherapy. Feedback on the effect of professional interventions is important in any profession: it supports the effectiveness of the intervention, helps to build the competence of the professional, and enables the development of the field itself. In psychotherapy, however, we often learn about the impact of our interventions with a time lag and not from all clients. The lack of immediate feedback is one of the reasons why developing expertise in psychotherapy is so challenging. The symposium will feature presentations on research, practice, and skills training. Space will be devoted to both systematic methods of obtaining feedback and methods that we use occasionally, intuitively, or unconsciously. |
