Description The peroxisomes were identified by means of selective cytochemical staining for catalase in human and mouse oocytes as well as in their cumulus cells. Great differences in peroxisome morphology and cytochemistry were found out between mouse and human oocytes. In cumulus cells of both human and mouse oocytes, morphologically uniform, strongly stained population of microperoxisomes was documented.
