Description The authors describe the technique first introduced by Arai with their modification of percutaneous placing of port cathether system ibnto the a.hepatica in the aim of the locoregional chemotherapy of liver malignancies. The proper technique is described together with alternative ways of cathetrisation and posiible complications. Nearly 10 years results are presentedwith the discussion on the role of the locoregional chemotherapy within the light of other yet palliative modalities in the treatment of malignant liver disease (both primary and secondary) and maybe allowing for the curative resection.
