Description The authors analyze a file of patients who were hospitalized at the Clinic of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the period from 1998 to 2002. They present statistic data concerning sex and age of patients, causation and emergence mechanism, localization and frequency of fractures, symptoms, treatment methods, possibility of complication emergence and late sequelae. They emphesize the main role of interdisciplinary collaboration of specialists from different clinics, above all from the clinic of oral and maxillofacial surgery, neurosurgery, ENT and ophthalmology both in examination and in diagnostics. They also point out the necessity of team collaboration in surgical intervention.
