Description This article discusses the possibilities of the use of ultrasound examinations in thoracic surgery. It describes the most frequent indications and methods of ultrasound examinations. It also mentions other options of using ultrasound in situations not yet introduced in current surgical practice. The benefits of this examination and also the knowledge resulting from our own clinical research are discussed.
