| Description | Catemennial pneumothorax is the rare type of the spotaneous pneumothorax. Only young women during a menses time are be down with this disease. The right lung is injured in 97 percents of cases. There are a lot of hypotesis of the genesis this disease. The genesis of this disease can be intrathoracic endometriosis, porus of the diaphragma, hight level of the plasmatic prostaglandin F2-alfa during menses and the ruption of the pleural blebs responsive to the hormonal plasmatic change. Reccurence of this pneumothorax is frequent. The chest tube with active suction is used for the treatement of this PNO. Prevention of the reccurence is the pleuroabrasis and pleurodesis permormed usually by VATS. The hormonal medicine can be use for the support. Autors desribe proper case of the young women with catemennial pneumothorax. The history of this case, diagnostic and therapy is reported. |
